THIRD ANNUAL WORKSHOP

Agricultural Extension Center BRIDGES (BRIDGES), Ukraine, in cooperation with Penn State University, USA, and GEA, Ukraine, holds the third annual workshop within the joint project "All about Cider!"
In 2020, the key speakers for the workshop will be represented by Ukrainian experts and cider producers and American colleagues: an expert from the Pennsylvania Cider Guild, a professor of marketing and entrepreneurship in agribusiness of the Penn State University, and a representative of the American cider company, a craft cider technologist.
In the United States, the hard cider has only recently become the main industry for alcoholic beverages, but revenue growth in this industry has outpaced the production of beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks. Over the past five years, revenue from the industry has been estimated at $ 569.1 million, and the country has become one of the top three world leaders in cider production. Compared to the year 2019, cider sales in the US have increased by 15%. Today, the cider market is 10 times larger than 10 years ago. At the moment, cider accounts for about 40% of sales in stores. Regional and local cider brands now account for about half of the country's offline sales. The US cider industry is projected to continue to expand for the next five years.

At the Ukrainian alcoholic beverage market, cider production is also a dynamically growing segment, which is ready to accommodate new players. And although the consumption of this drink is less common than the consumption of other types of alcohol, cider has every chance to become a favorite drink for Ukrainians, which fits perfectly into the trend of healthy food and beverages consumption. Craft cider varieties are becoming more popular. The producers of craft cider try to reproduce traditional Ukrainian recipes for cooking cider and select the right varieties of apples.
The main goal of the workshop is to discuss the trends and developments of the cider production sector in Ukraine and the USA, the situation on the Ukrainian and American cider markets, cider consumers' preferences. Also, the seminar will focus on cider production technology. The participants of the workshop will be able to put questions to the American technologist in advance and get the answers to their questions during the workshop.
Ukrainian cider producers, both craft and industrial, will attend the upcoming workshop.
